Doosan GridTech is actively seeking a Senior Power System Applications Engineer to support our growing Turnkey Energy Storage System (ESS) business. Use your power systems engineering knowledge, vendor management skills, and proposal-grade design background to provide technical applications support for Turnkey EPC proposals and contract projects which deploy storage solutions with Utilities and IPP customers who are incorporating distributed energy resources into the grid.   • Strong power system engineering skills

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Sales team and the technical project management team to identify customer technical specifications during the proposal phase of a bid cycle
  • Develop and manage ESS solution design tool by collaborating with internal and external teams; Propose competitive ESS solution based on each RFP requirements
  • Lead the engineering integration of components (batteries, inverters, transformers, switchgear, etc.) that result in Doosan’s turnkey ESS offering; Drive updates and continuous improvement into Doosan’s designs
  • Support bankability analysis of potential vendor partners with an emphasis on technical capability
  • Build Doosan’s ESS technology roadmap by performing technical due diligence of products and systems
  • Manage vendor/supplier relationships to deliver customer value
  • Evaluate product and systems risk during proposal and post-award phase; once a project is awarded support Project Managers in the transition to project delivery

Qualifications

  • 7+ years demonstrated experience in electrical power system engineering
  • Experience working on utility-scale electrical power system projects or distributed energy resource projects is strongly preferred
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related electrical power systems field with 7+ years’ direct engineering experience within an electric utility or MS in Electrical Engineering or related electrical power systems field with 4 + years’ direct engineering experience
  • Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) in any state desired

Doosan GridTech has an outstanding career opportunity for a Sr Director, Sales and Business Development to lead our North America Sales and Marketing teams. Lead and Manage Multiple Departments

Qualifications

We currently have an outstanding career opportunity for an Energy Storage System (ESS) Field Technician, responsible for supporting Doosan GridTech’s strategic Maintenance and Warranty Support Program. The ideal candidate will live 3 hours away from current Doosan GridTech ESS project sites located in Florida or Indiana, with the ability to travel up to 75%, (and to other states).   • Manage the quality control of solutions being delivered by Doosan GridTech. This is providing requirements to the engineering team to provide quality control of the deliverables. Regular on site audit and ensure construction quality is according to approved design and standards.
  • Efficiently and effectively track issues throughout the construction phase of the project.
  • Evaluate change orders and milestone claims.
  • Oversee Subcontractors and Suppliers, including reviewing the quality and progress of subcontractors’ work, and issuance of non-compliance to contractors if necessary.
  • Overall accountability for site activities including OH&S; ensuring adherence to building legislation and assessing risk/standards of performance.
  • Organise and manage site inductions if and when necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with specifications and standards. Preference will be given to Utility, Council Construction Standards.
  • Ensure the construction team comply with systems adopted on the project

Qualifications

  • Bachelors level or Tertiary qualifications in relevant industry; Construction Management or Engineering)
  • 3-5+ years of experience working on major construction projects managing pre-construction to handover essential.
  • Registered professional as a PMP, CPPM (AIPM), CPEng, NER, RPEQ or equivalent post graduate studies in relevant discipline are highly regarded.

  • Lead the engineering design of megawatt-scale energy storage systems, including electrical system design, utility interconnection design, installation and testing plan design, substation, BESS Plant design, protection system design coordination, metering design coordination etc.
  • Acting as the Subject Matter Expert in Electrical High Voltage, Medium Voltage Design, and coach junior engineers. Identify noncompliance in the design, review and approval of designs, evaluate consultant and contractors’ performance.
  • Manage engineering service sub-contractors and component vendors to contribute to the overall design of energy storage systems.
  • Create and coordinate the delivery and quality assurance of key engineering drawings and reports. Manage the PE certification process for electrical design drawings.
  • Provide engineering support for component solicitations including the evaluation of power conversion systems and battery systems from multiple vendors.
  • The preparation of preliminary and detailed design drawings for engineering projects, ensuring project work complies with conditions and parameters set out in project scope of works
