Doosan GridTech is actively seeking a Senior Power System Applications Engineer to support our growing Turnkey Energy Storage System (ESS) business. Use your power systems engineering knowledge, vendor management skills and proposal-grade design background to provide technical applications support for Turnkey EPC proposals and contract projects which deploy storage solutions with Utilities and IPP customers who are incorporating distributed energy resources into the grid. Required

  • Strong power system engineering skills
  • Experience working on utility-scale energy storage system (ESS) projects, and power systems engineering projects and product design.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Sales team and the technical project management team to identify customer technical specifications during the proposal phase of a bid cycle
  • Develop and manage ESS solution design tool by collaborating with internal and external teams; Propose competitive ESS solution based on each RFP requirements
  • Lead the engineering integration of components (batteries, inverters, transformers, switchgear etc.) that result in Doosan’s turnkey ESS offering; Drive updates and continuous improvement into Doosan’s designs
  • Support bankability analysis of potential vendor partners with an emphasis on technical capability
  • Build Doosan’s ESS technology roadmap by performing technical due diligence of products and systems
  • Manage vendor/supplier relationships to deliver customer value
  • Evaluate product and systems risk during proposal and post-award phase; once a project is awarded support Project Managers in the transition to project delivery

Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ demonstrated experience in electrical power system engineering
  • Experience working on utility scale electrical power system projects or distributed energy resource projects is strongly preferred
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related electrical power systems field with 7+ years’ direct engineering experience within an electric utility or MS in Electrical Engineering or related electrical power systems field with 4 + years’ direct engineering experience
  • Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) in any state desired

Use your financial planning and analysis skills to support the Company’s strategies, financial objectives and support the Project Delivery team to track project revenue and costs. Reporting to Chief Financial Officer, this position will be responsible for analyzing, developing and maintaining financial models, budgets and forecasts for our products and large Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects, monthly analysis of financial results and providing decision making support.

Responsibilities

  • Support Doosan GridTech leadership by building and maintaining complex financial models, budgets and analytic tools for measuring and forecasting company results and individual project performance.
  • Perform financial analysis on cash flow, operating results, and business plans to determine rates of return, capital/cash flow requirements, etc.
  • Create, maintain, and track cash flow projections at project and company level
  • Present accurate monthly performance reports and budget forecasts including cash flows to Chief Financial Officer and Finance Manager.
  • Build relationships with other teams at Doosan GridTech to influence strategic decision making, long-range planning and forecasting.
  • Drive continual process improvement of Company’s financial planning; including analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual cycle.
  • Conduct comparable analysis and market research to support internal financial analysis.

Project Delivery Analysis

  • Partner with Project Delivery Team, Finance and other stakeholders to maintain cost tracking models to produce timely and accurate reports and forecasts regarding project performance.
  • Track and review project related revenue, costs and cash flow.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial reports and analysis for a diverse set of projects.
  • Assist Finance Manager, Accounting/ Finance team to understand project financial performance.
  • Assist Finance Manager with the annual budgeting and planning process by providing detail which supports the bottoms up analysis.
  • Understand project scope, contract details, terms and tax requirements and apply that knowledge to billing, tracking and analysis of each project
  • Assist Project Delivery and Finance in preparation of detailed customer invoices.
  • Review project proposal to ensure they are in line with company requirements

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis. Preferably in the construction or EPC industry.
  • BS in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
  • High proficiency with Excel and financial modeling techniques.

Responsibilities

The Sales Engineer (Turnkey Bid Manager) supports Doosan GridTech technology deployment by developing a range of technical bids and proposals, usually in response to requests for proposals (“RFPs”) issued by both public and private institutions in the Energy Services industry. The incumbent will utilize his or her knowledge of electrical and electronics engineering to collaborate on the technical bid proposal process from inception through delivery and will focus on—
  • drafting technical bids, proposals, and associated reports, while coordinating bid teams and while monitoring bid processes, related budget concerns, and risk exposure;
  • ensuring that all RFP responses comply with relevant corporate approval procedures;
  • collaborating with Doosan GridTech sales teams to identify customer technical requirements, help develop sales and product deployment strategies, and provide related technical sales support;
  • preparing drafts of technical presentations and other materials that explain Doosan GridTech products and services to customers and prospective customers;
  • researching and identifying potential customers for Doosan GridTech products and services, as required;
  • drafting technical documentation for Doosan GridTech products, as required;
  • coordinating post-bid reviews;
  • keeping informed of industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, existing and emerging technologies, and the latest Doosan GridTech product-line developments.

We currently have an outstanding career opportunity for a Senior Power Systems Engineer. The position is based at our office located at 71 Columbia Street, Suite 300, Seattle, WA, 98104.

Responsibilities

The Senior Power Systems Engineer will focus on exploring and developing value creation mechanisms for distributed electrical energy resources. Job duties will include, among other things:
  • playing a lead role in the engineering design of megawatt-scale electrical energy storage systems (involving electrical system design, utility interconnection design, installation and testing plan design, and control system integration);
  • coordinating the delivery and quality assurance of engineering drawings and the certification process for those drawings;
  • identifying potential design and performance improvements in Doosan GridTech delivered systems, while working with engineering service sub-contractors and component vendors to contribute to the overall design of Doosan GridTech energy storage systems;
  • providing electrical engineering support for component solicitations, including the evaluation of power conversion systems and battery systems from multiple vendors;
  • authoring client-facing documents to help customers implement Doosan GridTech energy storage designs;
  • otherwise contributing to a range of Doosan GridTech in-house electrical engineering and technology development initiatives.

  • Train customers on operation of Doosan software products.
  • Analyze system data to troubleshoot operational issues.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years demonstrated field experience in electrical engineering or energy related field.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of direct engineering experience; or, MS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 2+ years of direct engineering experience.

In this role you will be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines involved in Doosan GridTech Australia projects, including scheduling, planning, forecasting and managing of technical activities assigned to assure project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.   • Verify adherence to design brief at site during installation and testing phase.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years demonstrated experience in electrical systems projects.
  • 8+ years’ experience as a design engineer.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years’ design experience within an electric utility
  • Experience working on utility scale electrical projects or distributed energy resource projects is strongly preferred
  • Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) or RPEQ in any state desired
