Doosan GridTech was formed in 2016 when Doosan Enerbility acquired all of the outstanding shares of 1Energy Systems, Inc., as part of the firm’s continuing expansion into renewable energy.

    1Energy Systems is founded by David Kaplan in Seattle, Washington.
  • 2013

    1st DG-IC™ installed

    1Energy (Doosan GridTech) installs the first instance of the Intelligent Controller product at a utility substation in North Carolina
  • 2014

    Modular Energy Storage Architecture Alliance announced

    Snohomish PUD, 1Energy, Parker Hannifin and LG Chem announce the Modular Energy Storage Architecture Alliance and a partnership with SunSpec to develop the MESA-Device specification at Distributech 2014.
  • 2015

    1st MESA ESS delivered

    Snohomish PUD commissions the first open-standards based energy storage system called MESA 1. 1Energy (Doosan GridTech) supplies the control software and system integration services.

    DG-DERO™ product announced

    1Energy (Doosan GridTech) announces its Distributed Energy Resource Optimizer (DG-DERO™) product for managing fleets of energy storage systems and other distributed energy resources.
  • 2016

    Austin Energy receive SHINES Award from US Department of Energy

    US Dept of Energy announces Austin Energy is the recipient of a $4.3MM award as part of their SHINES program. 1Energy (Doosan GridTech) is identified as the lead system integrator for the project which will integrate solar and storage on both sides of the meter.

    1Energy Systems receives 2015 Grid Edge 20 Award from Greentech Media

    GreenTech Media honors 1Energy as one of 20 companies “making change on the cutting edge of distributed energy and grid integration.”

    Doosan Enerbility acquires 1Energy Systems and launches Doosan GridTech subsidiary

    On July 11th, Daejin Choi of Doosan Enerbility and David Kaplan, Founder and CEO of 1Energy Systems, announced the purchase of 1Energy Systems by Doosan Enerbility and the creation of a new subsidiary named Doosan GridTech™ that will focus on technology solutions for the emerging digital distributed electric grid.
