Use your contract management/administration skills to aid the project management team in implementing EPC and integration projects in the US and Australia in a timely and profitable manner. The Contract Manager will help Doosan GridTech translate its contractual obligations into actionable tasks and finally into successful completion of EPC projects. The position reports to the General Counsel.
Minimum of 3 years experience in commercial activities, strong understanding of construction and/or energy industry contracts, primary experience in contract management and dispute settlement
Strong technical knowledge (civil, electrical, or software engineering) as applied to energy industry companies
Outstanding ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional teams
Practical knowledge of general and specific contract conditions contained in construction and equipment supply contracts
Demonstrated knowledge of conflict resolution
Ability to work in a matrix organization
Compliance management experience, including DOE, Buy American, FCPA, and other contract compliance clauses
Great time management skills; willingness to work off hours (due to global business)
Ability to solve complex problems
International and government contracting experience
Contract Management Certification
Energy industry experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or construction management
Contract Management certification (NCMA or IACCM [World Commerce & Contracting]) desired
Assist legal counsel in preparing appropriate contractual documentation pertaining to statements of work and other technical contract attachments
Initiate and maintain all required filings for business, engineering and construction licenses.
Support requests of the project managers with the goal of attaining the commercial objectives of the projects. This will include customer correspondence, risk and opportunity management and any activity necessary to support the project team objectives.
Ensure that appropriate project procedures relative to notification, follow-up of, and replies to correspondence, and change/variation orders are properly understood by the members of the project teams and implemented in the projects.
Manage subcontractor and supplier relations, including but not limited to, defining scopes of work, administer claims for variations, and ensure contract compliance by all subcontractors and suppliers.
Ensure efficient application of the change and claim management process. Prepare and administer changes and claims during project implementation. Using cost control functions, establish and implement a systematic identification system for budgeting, cost recording, the processing and monitoring of change/variation orders and/or proposals for change, to ensure that all costs relative to requests and additional work are noted, recorded, captured and processed.
Provide a detailed analysis of each contract and prepare a contract summary analysis for issuance to the project team showing the key commercial issues of the agreement. Participate in the preparation of the project commercial strategy and its implementation.
Review and administer warranty and O&M contracts; oversee and/or resolve Guaranty/Warranty specific problems.
Identify the needs of the project team and the organization, including members of the jobsite personnel, with respect to training and sharing of exemplary practices in matters of commercial awareness, contract(s) management, change/variation orders, and ensure the training and formal coaching of any personnel identified.
Improve the Project Management toolbox containing appropriate form documents and other aids for the Project Delivery team.
Oversee and handle appropriate steps for project surety issues (i.e. Payment/Performance Bonds, Letters of Credit and Parent Company Guarantees, etc.). Monitor project insurance requirements and timely submission of insurance certificates to the Customer.
Facilitate hand-off from sales to project delivery; administer the project closeout procedure, including lien and lien waivers etc.
