Doosan GridTech currently has an outstanding career opportunity for an experienced Senior Network and Controls Engineer to join our growing North American team. The Senior Network and Controls Engineer will lead efforts to ensure network and controls requirements for battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects are fulfilled to company and customer expectations. This is a customer-facing position responsible for the interface of network and control systems in utility-scale battery energy storage systems throughout the United States and internationally.
Requirements
BS in Engineering
5 to 10 years of relevant experience with SCADA and network and controls in the utility/power sector. BESS network and controls experience is strongly desired.
Knowledge of network and controls, communication protocols, Modbus mapping, IP addresses, network switches, and local/network controllers.
Experience with SEL-3355 RTAC, SEL-2240 AXION, SEL-751 Protective Relay and SEL-735 Power Meter preferred
Experience with end user controls necessary to operate a BESS preferred
Experience in network design, programming, commissioning, and trouble shooting control systems in the utility/power sector including programming of automation controllers, SCADA systems, and HMIs.
Expertise implementing industrial automation communication protocols such as Modbus, serial, TCP/IP, ethernet, network cyber security, and firewalls in the utility domain.
Strong technical and non-technical writing skills
Familiarity with design for constructability and utility interconnection facilities for renewable generation facilities
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.

Responsibilities
Lead the design and review of network and controls related to BESS projects, including power conversion systems (inverters and DC/DC converters), isolation and power transformers, medium voltage switchgear, protection and control systems, grounding, low and medium voltage AC and DC cable systems, and plant auxiliary equipment.
Create network communication diagrams/architecture
Generate point mapping for all hardwired and digital I/O for BESS control systems
Generate communications designs to allow SCADA interfacing and management of whitelisted devices
Create and review technical portions of RFP and contract documents
Support estimation of company and 3rd party developed projects by preparing preliminary designs for proposed projects
Ensure compliance with industry and client standards
Perform technical review of customer equipment submittals to ensure acceptability to company, client requirements and adherence to industry specifications and standards
Support the direction of suppliers on project construction sites to ensure projects are constructed according to designs.
Complete installation and commissioning of network and control systems
Ensure projects conform with federal, state, local and company engineering standards and specifications
Visit project sites during pre-construction, construction, and O&M activities to support project needs.
Conduct and review design studies on components and systems to establish equipment ratings, optimize designs, and establish operating parameters to achieve a safe, well-engineered, cost-effective project design.
