Bellevue, Washington; August 12, 2025 – Doosan GridTech, a global leader in advanced energy software and systems integration, and Typhoon HIL, the pioneer in ultra-high-fidelity Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation for power electronics and power systems, have announced a strategic partnership to revolutionize the integration and validation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Power Plant Controllers (PPCs) for hybrid PV+BESS sites.
This collaboration represents a significant milestone in the ongoing modernization of the electrical grid. Under the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on several strategic initiatives, including:
Technology Integration: Embedding Typhoon HIL’s high-fidelity simulation technology into Doosan’s Voice of the Customer (VoC) Lab in Bellevue, Washington, to perform HIL testing and validation of BESS and PPC solutions.
Joint Marketing & Events: Co-hosting webinars, participating in industry conferences such as RE+ and Typhoon HIL Tech Day, and producing co-branded technical content, including blogs, case studies, and spotlight videos.
Customer Enablement & Training: Providing hands-on training, expert-led sessions, and shared tools to support customer success and broaden adoption.

This integrates OEM controller, off-the-shelf physical interfaces, and validated high-fidelity models into a Controller Hardware-in-the-Loop (C-HIL) package, providing flexible testbeds for any site in our Voice of the Customer lab,” said Steve Hummel, CTO.

This allows for comprehensive BESS site simulations, including inverters, battery management systems, and protection systems, empowering developers, Independent Power Providers (IPPs), and Engineering Production and Construction (EPC) firms to de-risk complex systems before site deployment.
