Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Manager extraordinaire to support a rapidly-growing Company that is transforming the electric power system in Australia. This position will partner with team leaders to support talent acquisition, compensation and benefits programs, employee development and training initiatives, and other HR transformation processes.


Reporting to the Senior Director of HR located in Seattle, Washington, USA, the ideal candidate will be based in Melbourne and keenly interested in developing all the HR business processes and workflows in a fast-paced environment.


Please note that only Australian Citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency candidates will be considered for this opportunity.

Requirements

  • Passionate about HR transformation and developing processes to scale growth of company recruitment and hiring plans, including other business process and operation improvement initiatives.

  • Strong experience providing generalist Human Resources in a management position to support and advise in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong knowledge of recruiting & talent acquisition in competitive market, with proven ability to manage the full cycle of talent acquisition and management.

  • Proven experience managing other human resource areas such as employment relations and best practices, compensation and benefits, employee development and training, performance evaluation and policy development.

  • Strong understanding of Australian Employment Law.

  • Experience working efficiently on multiple recruiting platforms such as SEEK and LinkedIn.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong level of discretion to ensure confidential information is not shared inappropriately.

  • Strong emotional intelligence with exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to deal tactfully and effectively with all internal and external customers.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills; strong level of initiative to proactively seek solutions to align HR functions with business requirements.

  • Strong ability to establish partnerships of trust with key stakeholders.

  • Ability to negotiate complex job offers; championing for the candidate whilst supporting best hiring decisions for the company.

  • Strategic and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to proactively anticipate potential issues/conflicts.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.

Desired Skills

  • Previous experience in construction or EPC industry.

  • Experience working in a startup environment.

  • Experience implementing an HRIS and talent management system.

  • Past experience developing dashboards and metrics for measuring departmental success.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a Human Resources Management position

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or Business degree.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate multiple time zones in a global company such as a 7:00am or 6:00am (AEST) start time.

  • Ability to travel should business needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all functional areas associated with HR including: compensation and benefits, performance evaluation, employee development and training; employment relations and best practices; and ongoing policy development and other ad-hoc projects as needed.

  • This position will be responsible for managing the full recruiting cycle from attracting qualified candidates to new employee on-boarding, including conducting of background checks and reference checks.

  • Work with Doosan GridTech Australia team leaders and hiring managers to develop compelling job descriptions; post open positions, review resumes and source potential talent to sustain our high hiring bar on multiple recruitment platforms; identify appropriate sourcing channels for creating a robust talent pipeline, perform searches on professional, social network, websites and other sites.

  • Perform operational tasks to support global HR team such as data entry into HRIS and Payroll platforms, document control, and coordination of work equipment logistics for Australia team.

  • Collaborate effectively with Doosan GridTech Australia and USA operations to support positive employee engagement through change management practices that support a dynamic Company culture.

  • Manage Workers Compensation Insurance claims liaising with insurance providers and working closely with HSE department on Return-to-Work plans for injured employees.

  • Partner with leadership in succession planning of staff.

  • Coordinate the performance management and review process.

  • Create and update compensation strategy through market analysis and pay surveys.

  • Handle investigation and resolution of employment relations issues.

  • Ensure all employment practices comply with national, state and local regulations.
